Remember the main villain ‘The Kurgan’ in the popular action-fantasy film ‘Highlander’? He is the same actor who played Captain Hadley in the cult prison drama ‘The Shawshank Redemption’. We are talking about the veteran performer Clancy Brown. Just a few hours back, it was revealed (via Deadline) that Clancy Brown has been roped in to play a role in the Keanu Reeves starrer ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. Soon after, the casting news was confirmed by the actor himself through his Twitter handle.

The detail about which role Clancy Brown would be essaying in the action flick is not confirmed yet. However, this is not the first time Brown will be sharing screen space with Keanu Reeves as they had previously worked together in the 2020 live-action animated film ‘The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run’.
Like the first three films, the fourth installment of the John Wick franchise will also be helmed by stunt coordinator turned director Chad Stahelski. Regarding Brown’s casting, the director had stated that: “I have been a fan of Clancy Brown’s since I can remember. To have him be a part of this project is an honor. He will make a perfect addition to the World of John Wick!”
Besides ‘John Wick 4’, Clancy Brown will next be seen as the antagonist in Showtime’s ‘Dexter: New Blood’ which is coming out in November this year. He will also act alongside Mel Gibson in the upcoming action thriller ‘Last Looks’.
John Wick 4’s production is currently underway in full swing in France, Germany, and Japan. It’s a direct sequel to the 2019 film ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’. ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ is scheduled to release on 27th May 2022. Into the bargain, ‘John Wick 5’ is also reportedly under development.
