John Wick Prequel Series ‘The Continental’ Adds Five Cast Members

A few months back, we had made our readers aware that the ‘John Wick’ prequel series ‘The Continental’ had cast Hollywood A-list actor Mel Gibson in an important role. Besides, the three-part miniseries had also found its lead actor in Colin Woodell, who would play the enigmatic owner of the titular hotel ‘The Continental’ Winston Scott, a role that was originally played by Ian McShane in Keanu Reeves’ ‘John Wick’ films.

And now, ‘The Continental’ has added five more cast members to the ever-expanding list. They are Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, Adam Shapiro, Mark Musashi, and Marina Mazepa. Katie McGrath is known for her roles in the BBC show ‘Merlin’, the horror show ‘Dracula’, and the superhero series ‘Supergirl’. She is set to play a character called The Adjudicator in the series.

While four other new cast members namely Ray McKinnon (Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy), Adam Shapiro (The Affair, Never Have I Ever), martial artist Mark Musashi, and Marina Mazepa (Malignant, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) will be playing the roles of Jenkins, Lemmy, Hansel, and Gretel, respectively.

‘The Continental’, directed by Albert Hughes, would serve as a prequel to the Keanu Reeves’ starrer neo-noir and explosive ‘John Wick’ film series. The series would ostensibly revolve around the origin story of the titular chain of hotels that prominently featured in the ‘John Wick’ universe. The titular hotel serves as a neutral ground for assassins and hitmen, and a safe haven for the world’s most dangerous criminals. Each episode of the three-part miniseries would have a runtime of 90 minutes each.

Besides ‘The Continental’, the fourth and fifth installments of ‘John Wick’ films starring Keanu Reeves are already in the works. Moreover, a ‘John Wick’ spin-off movie ‘Ballerina’ is also said to be under development with ‘No Time to Die’ actress ostensibly playing the lead role.
