Guess what? Our most favourite Johnny Depp and the exceptionally talented Sydney Sweeney are all set to star in a new supernatural suspense, “Day Drinker”! Marc Webb drives this exciting project – he is none other than the genius behind hits like “500 Days of Summer” and “The Amazing Spider-Man”.
Zach Dean, the genius behind “Fast X” and “The Tomorrow War”, has written the script. It will follow an “enigmatic stranger (Depp) and a bartender (Sweeney) mourning the loss of her lover.” It’s said to explore themes of “love, friendship, and revenge.”
This film marks an influential comeback for Depp after his victorious calumniation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, back in 2021. You might remember his excellent narrative of King Louis XV in the historical act, namely “Jeanne du Barry,” which hit screens in 2023. He was the multitasking man and even took on the director role for a film centred around the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, presently in the post-production stage.
As for Sweeney, she’s been on fire lately! Fresh off the heels of the rom-com hit “Anyone But You” and the spine-tingling horror flick “Immaculate,” she’s been juggling it all with the grace of a seasoned pro. And get this—she’s been doing it all on just two hours of sleep, without a single sip of coffee! She even rocked the stage as a host on Saturday Night Live.
