First of all, don’t call yourself a Star Wars fan if you do not know what to say in reply to Kenobi’s Hello There! George Lucas’ iconic and globally popular space opera franchise now consists of numerous great projects, including the recently concluded Disney+ Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson. But only one of them has managed to leave a long-lasting impact on the hearts of SW fans. Yup, we are talking about the most ‘memed’ Star Wars project ever, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
The third SW episode delves deep into the transformation of Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader, the father of Luke and Leia. The way in which he accepts the dark side of the force is truly heartbreaking, making the film an emotional rollercoaster ride. ‘Revenge of the Sith’ also stands out for its amazingness in terms of visuals, action sequences, and musical score. The lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker is one of the most intense and thrilling lightsaber duels in the history of Star Wars, with many deeming it the best.
Episode III also turned out revolutionary in terms of visual effects. And it benefitted immensely from John Williams’ outstanding musical score. In fact, we cannot imagine Episode III without Williams.
Revenge of the Sith stands at a ‘fresh’ rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 300 reviews. It was also the second-highest-grossing movie in 2005, earning over $860 million globally. The film stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, Anthony Daniels, and more. Stream it on Disney+ Hotstar.
