Joju George’s ‘Nayattu’ & ‘Aanum Pennum’ Drop Exciting New Trailers

Joju George’s upcoming two films – ‘Nayattu’ and ‘Aanum Pennum’ dropped gripping new trailers, yesterday. The first film is a dramatic cop film while the second is a three-story anthology film which focuses around the concept of romance in different eras. The former is expected to drop in cinemas by the second week of April while the later will release in theaters on this weekend. Check out both trailers at the end of this article.

The first film, Nayattu stars Joju George, Kunchacko Bobban and Nimisha Sajayan in lead roles. The trailer of the film starts off at a slow pace, giving us an idea of the day-to-day activities in a cop’s normal routine. When a young woman who is related to a minister is caught with her boyfriend, the minister’s family “ask” the cops to charge the young man with a non-bailable offense. Joju George utters a brilliant line in the trailer at this point – “Even thugs and goons have the freedom to accept or reject jobs. We don’t have that”, which signifies his reluctance in doing this task.

Joju George and Kunchacko Bobban (who are both cops) along with a few other policemen proceed to beat up the boy in the station (we assume). But then, the boy comes back for vengeance with protestors, protesting outside the police station regarding the injustice he faced. When the situation gets serious, Joju George, Kunchacko Bobban and Nimisha Sajayan (who is also a cop) are forced to flee the station under the cover of night. This thrilling look behind the lives of cop is only made more interesting with the trailer sequences that follow

The second film, Aanum Pennum is split into three segments which will be directed by three different directors – Aashiq Abu, Venu ISC, Jay K. The anthology film is expected to talk about three different types of love stories; each set in different eras in Kerala. Joju George and Samyuktha Menon will be part of the “oldest-era” segment, Roshan Mathew and Darshana will be the duo who will be in the “youngest-era” segment while Parvathy Thiruvothu and Asif Ali will be part of the “middle-era” segment.

The trailer of the film gives us a basic understanding of the plot. It shows three different eras, and the common issues faced by people back then. With a story about a woman and a man voiced over in the background of the trailer, we get a similar story unfolding in the arc of Joju George-Samyuktha Menon’s narrative. Roshan Mathew and Darshana’s arc is about two college students, while Parvathy and Asif’s story is set in a village. With a score that gets your heart racing, we can’t wait for this tale to unfold on the silver screen.

Nayattu will be released in theaters on April 8th 2021.

Aanum Pennum will come to theaters in a few days, on 26th March 2021.
