Director Subhash Kapoor is ready to complete his Jolly LLB trilogy with Akshay Kumar returning as Jagdishwar Mishra. According to Pinkvilla, Star Studios will produce the project. The filming is expected to go on floors next year. Fans of the franchise can expect Jolly LLB 3 to be bigger than the previous two entries.
Apart from Khiladi Kumar, Saurabh Shukla will return to play the iconic character of Judge Sunderlal Tripathi. Arshad Warsi led the first Jolly LLB film (2013) as Jagdish “Jolly” Tyagi. The rest of the cast included Saurabh Shukla, Boman Irani, Amrita Rao, and many more. This one turned out to be a surprise hit and earned 37 crores against its small 10-crore budget. Then, its sequel arrived four years later. The power-packed performances of Akshay Kumar and Annu Kapoor helped the film in reaching very close to the 200-crore barrier.
The year 2022 has turned out to be unlucky for Kumar. Both Bachchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj ended up becoming major box-office disasters. And it seems like his latest family drama, Raksha Bandhan, will sprinkle more salt on his burns. The Aanand L. Rai directional opened against Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha this Friday. And as expected, this gigantic clash did not turn out to be favourable for both films.
Kumar will appear in two more projects this year: Ram Setu and Mission Cindrella. In addition to these films, we will see the actor sharing the screen with Emraan Hashmi in Selfiee, portraying Lord Shiva in the forthcoming OMG sequel, and doing the Soorarai Pottru remake next year.
