The neo-western science fiction show ‘Outer Range’ has been cancelled after two seasons on Amazon Prime Video.
The show was created by Brian Watkins and starred actors like Josh Brolin, Imogen Poots, ili Taylor, Tom Pelphrey, Tamara Podemski etc. The show tells the story of the Abbott family who are fighting to protect their Lands and ranch from a rival family, the Tillersons. The daughter-in-law of the family has gone missing and while all the members look for her, Royal Abbott finds a mysterious void in the fields. The void has some connections to a girl named Autumn who suddenly appears in the ranch. The mysteries go deeper and the family is put under more crises. The show was accepted by audience with love, though it did not manage to attract a huge number of audience.
The show was produced under the banner of Amazon MGM Studios and Plan B Entertainment. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and several others served as executive producers.
‘Outer Range’ premiered in April of 2022 and the second season came out in May 2024. The show beautifully blended the genre of western and science fiction and the storytelling was not sloppy but worth praising. The show did not make any records, but was not a bad production as well. After two seasons, now the show is sadly called off.
