Junglee Pictures has unveiled the first look and title of its first venture into Malayalam film industry today. Helmed by award winning filmmaker Shahi Kabir the film is titled ‘Ronth’ and is set to release on big screens later this year.
Starring Roshan Mathew and Dileesh Pothan in the lead, ‘Ronth’ follows two cops whose night patrol shift becomes the center point of their professional challenges and personal conflicts.
‘Ronth’ will also star Sudhi Koppa, Arun Cherukavil, Lakshmi Menon, Krisha Kurup and Nandanunni in supporting roles. Among the technical crew we have Mahesh Madhavan as cinematographer, Praveen Mangalath as editor and Anil Johnson as the music composer.
Shahi Kabir is coming fresh off the success of his latest release ‘Officer On Duty’ which is getting great response from critics and fans alike. Kabir is well known for his cop stories such as those in ‘Joseph’, ‘Nayattu’ and ‘Ela Veezha Poonchira’ and he will definitely aim to take forward the success with ‘Ronth’.
Deriving from his own experience in the force, Kabir brings in raw and real touch in his stories that make them more interesting. His films are known for their blend of social commentary and stark realism.
As for the production banner Junglee Pictures, known for producing films like ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Talvar’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Badhaai Ho’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and more, ‘Ronth’ will be their first Malayalam film.
‘Ronth’ is a jointly produced by Festival Cinemas. Vineet Jain, Ratheesh Ambat, Ranjith E.V.M. and Jojo Jose serve as producers for the film while Amrita Pandey is the co-producer. ‘Ronth’ is slated for release in 2025.
