Junglee Pictures is one of Bollywood’s leading production and distribution houses at the moment. With the company starting just a few years ago and releasing movies that became super hits and critically acclaimed, Junglee Pictures was able to prove itself as competition for others. Jungle Pictures ventured into the business with Zoya Akhtar’s “Dil Dhadakne Do” and the critically acclaimed “Talvar”. With just 7 movies in, Junglee Pictures have been able to make its mark in Bollywood with its outstanding movie selection.
Now, Junglee Pictures has acquired the rights to yet another mind-blowing story that rocked the nation a few years ago. The company has acquired audio visual as well as literary life rights in all languages of Jeevajothi Santhakumar. The production house is already working on a script based on the incident between Jeevajothi Santhakumar and South Indian Food Restaurant mogul P. Rajagopal, who was fondly called the “Dosa King” by the restaurant’s esteemed customers, in the business world as well as the workers of the company.

The movie is set to follow the life story of P. Rajagopal, and how he managed to establish an empire with his authentic South Indian food recipes. The movie then will show the life of Jeevajothi Santhakumar, who was being relentlessly pursued by Rajagopal to be his third wife. The madness went on to such an extent that he attempted all sorts of harassments to make her his wife. Santhakumar who was already married to Prince Santhakumar is said to be one of the restaurant’s Assistant Manager’s daughters.
In 2001, after a failed murder attempt, Rajagopal ended up murdering Prince Santhakumar, and with it began the 18 years long battle of Jeevajothi Santhakumar and her struggle to get this man behind bars. The story is one of the most interesting courtroom stories from India, where one stood acquitted against the people of a state. The case famously came to be known as P. Rajagopal V. The State of Tamil Nadu.
The movie will roll out pretty soon, the script is already underway and Junglee Pictures have collaborated once again with the creator of its smash hit “Raazi”. Bhavani Iyer, who was the scriptwriter for Raazi, has been penning the script for the movie. The announcements for the cast and crew of the movie will be announced soon.
