Lately, the audience has been taking a good deal of interest in South Korean content. From K-drama to K-pop, South Korean culture is becoming increasingly successful across the globe. Now, looking at the popularity, The Korea Professional Football League (K-League) is launching its own OTT platform for their international fans, which will cover South Korea’s sports section!
This OTT platform is named K-League TV and will provide live broadcasts of all K League 1 and K League 2 matches in English language to serve the international markets. Not just the matches but also exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, highlights, and interviews will be available in English and Korean language. K-League TV has been launched in partnership with sports services provider Sportsradar. The K League was one of the first leagues to restart in 2020.
The 2021 season begins on 27th February. All the international fans can access the live footage free of charge! That’s right! Unlike other OTT platforms, K League TV does not charge a subscription fee. “The past year has seen a lot of changes in consumption of content, and we feel that the time is right to expand our fanbase by this platform that reaches out to a global audience,” said Yeon Sang Cho, K League’s secretary general.
