Futuristic movies are all over the world now. So much so, that it is becoming a trendy topic to make something out of it.
And here we are standing in 2024 predicting what is going to happen in the upcoming 4 years.
“Kadaisi Ulaga Por” which, if we translate stands for “The Last World War”, is an upcoming Tamil dystopian movie , set to release on September 20th 2024.
The movie sets in the near future which is 2028, where economic safety is imposed upon countries like India, but from the trailer we get the information that China, Russia and other 72 countries have joined and made a union called the ‘Republic”, to take down the UN.
Meanwhile in India an internal war is going on, political figures are plotting for some major changes and the blast in the stadium with the IPL background track made it more intersection.
Written, directed and produced by Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi, this movie promises to be a science fiction, action, thriller and war film.
But can we really call it science fiction?
With movies and series being made all over the world surrounding similar aspects the glimpse in the trailer shows how near we are to the verge of distraction.
Movies like “Civil War” deal with a sort of similar backdrop but set in the United States, where there is an authoritarian federal government which is led by a third term president.
But being an Indian movie “Kadaisi Ulaga Por” has the potential to shake up the audience with its mind bending visuals.
Dystopian based futuristic movies are always a predestination for what is coming up next.
If we look closely at literature then we will see “1984” predicted what is going to happen way before, of course it had a touch of fantasy in it.
But, why “Kadaisi Ulaga Por” has the potential to be a successful movie is because of its reality checks, the blast in the stadium we saw in trailer was a pure visual representation which recently we avoided with the cancelation of Taylor Swift’s performance in Venice where there was supposed to be an attack.
This movie also delves into the theme of politics, terrorism and freedom.
Alongside Aadhi, this movie also stars Nassar, Natarajan Subramaniam, Anagha, N. Alagan Perumal, Harish Uthaman, Munishkanth, Singampuli, Kalyan Master, Elango Kumaravel, Thalaivaasal Vijay and Mahanadi Shankar.
Now it is just a matter of time to see how the audience receives this movie.
