Two powerhouse talents of Indian cinema, Bollywood star Kajol and stellar actor-director Revathi have come together for an intriguing project. Revathi will direct Kajol in a family and social drama titled ‘The Last Hurrah’. The film will be produced by Suuraj Sinngh and Shraddha Agrawal under their banner Blive Productions and Take 23 Studios Production.
The story of the ‘The Last Hurrah’ is a heartwarming take on a mother who faces and triumphs against the most trying circumstances for the sake of her family. It is reportedly inspired by true events. Screenwriter Sameer Arora has written the screenplay for ‘The Last Hurrah’. He has earlier written the screenplays for films such as the Karthi – Jyotika starrer ‘Thambi’, Nana Patekar starrer ‘Ek: The Power of One’ and erotic drama ‘Hate Story 4’.
In recent times, Revathi has taken to directing like a fish takes to water. Her 2002 film ‘Mitr, My Friend’ won the coveted National Award. Her heartwarming drama ‘Phir Milenge’ received appreciation and accolades.
Kajol last appeared in ‘Tribhanga’ for Netflix, which also had a woman director at the helm – the very talented Renuka Shahane. ‘The Last Hurrah’ will go on the floors soon.
