The official trailer Kajol’s ‘Salaam Venky’ trailer is out now. Salaam Venky is one of the most anticipated dramas of this year and it brings the unique pair of Revathy and Kajol together for the first time. Veteran actress Revathy Pillai has won the National Award For her movie ‘Mitr: My Friend’. She had made a name among the acclaimed filmmakers and her direction will definitely be a major plus point for the movie.
Salaam Venky stars Kajol, Vishal Jethwa, Rahul Bose, Prakash Raj, Priya Mani in important roles. It is good to see Rahul Bose back after so long. Vishal Jethwa is again mesmerising in his role. He has previously amazed his audience with his intense role in ‘Mardaani 2’, now we will see him in a completely different avatar.
In the trailer, Vishal’s character Venky is a differently able wheelchair boy. Kajol plays his hardworking mother who does not lose hope and fights for her child. There are heart warming mother son moments throughout the trailer and there is dying wish that Venky makes to his mother, which is not revealed. The trailer reminds of ‘Anand’ and Kajol’s character Sujata also asks her son to make his life ‘BIG’ instead of ‘LONG’, which is an Anand reference.
The music of the movie is composed by Mithoon and the adapted story and screenplay is written by Sameer Arora. Manan Sagar is the editor.
The film was previously titled ‘The Last Hurrah’. Kajol was last seen in ‘Tribhanga’ and the Kajol and Aamir Khan pair was seen only once in the 2006 film ‘Fanaa’. Fans are excited to watch them together again in the big screen. But it is Kajol and Vishal’s mother son chemistry that will make the audiences want to go the theaters to experience the feel good magic. Salaam Venky will hit the theatres on December 9, 2022.
