Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most important films of the year. It is a well-made attempt with a huge budget and box office collection. It drew a lot of people to the big screens but let’s be honest over here. Not everyone goes to the theatres, they wait for the film to be released on the OTT to enjoy and that is perfectly alright. The experience of the big screens with a sane and decent crowd is unmatchable.
However, the OTT audiences at least deserve a full runtime that the theatre going audiences enjoyed. Looks like the fans of Kalki 2898 AD did not have this luxury in their destiny. The film has been robbed of a significant 5 minutes in comparison to its theatrical version.
The theatrical version was 180 minutes. However, the OTT version on both Netflix India and Prime Video is only 175 minutes long.
The entry scene of Prabhas along with 4 other scenes have been chopped off from the film. This is causing the fans of the film to show their anger and why those scenes are cut is beyond even our understanding. Anyways, those scenes were not very important. But, having them would have been nice.
