It has been a wait of years since we saw Prabhas in an action spectacle that is worth our time. We are not counting Salaar because that is a headache at its best. But, Kalki 2898 AD is here and the world is watching it.
So how is the film?
Basically it is more about the experience and less about the story that you take home with. The film has a weak plot and there are severe flaws in the script. The biggest is the screen time of Prabhas. He feels like an extended cameo instead of the main lead. It is not a problem for most of the people if the experience comes out to be good. However, Prabhas fans are definitely not gonna like this fact.
Amitabh Bachchan is the MAN. He feels like an absolute king of action. His scenes are so well choreographed that it makes us think what the man would be capable of if all these technologies were available during his prime in the 70s. We are not gonna appreciate him for his acting performance because he is a marvel to look at in most of the films. In Kalki 2898 AD too, he is nothing less than a case study of how wonderful an actor can be.
Others too are impressive including legendary Kamal Hassan along with Shashwata Chaterjee, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Rajendra Prasad and more.
The emotional and drama part could have been done far better. Looks like Nag Ashwin just gathered good actors from every industry without focusing on the emotional peak of the characters. However, we must appreciate the outstanding job of the VFX artists. They really did a job that will impress most of the people after Brahmastra.
Without keeping any high hopes from writing, just go on and enjoy the film for an unforgettable experience.
