Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ Beats RRR & KGF-2 on IMDb Top 250

Year 2022 has been fantastic so far for Indian cinephiles as fans have witnessed the release of some fine films. And out of those, the two recently released blockbusters S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ and Prashanth Neel’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ also made their way to the highest rated Indian movies of all time on IMDb. And now, the latest explosive entrant to the coveted list is none other than veteran actor Kamal Haasan’s latest action outing ‘Vikram’.

Not only ‘Vikram’ (Rank 13) has made its way to the top 250 Indian films list on IMDb in such a short period, but the film has also outranked the two biggies namely ‘RRR’ (Rank 164) and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ (Rank 85). Currently, ‘Vikram’ holds a highly impressive IMDb user rating of 8.9/10 based on around 21k votes. So, from the year 2022, ‘Vikram’ is currently the highest rated Indian movie on IMDb.

And in doing that, ‘Vikram’ has also surpassed some of the finest recent Indian movies on IMDb such as ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’, ‘Soorarai Pottru’, ‘Drishyam 2’, ‘Sardar Udham’, and ‘Minnal Murali’, to name a few.

Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the star-studded action entertainer features the terrific trio of Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil alongside Suriya in a special cameo. Kamal Haasan is essaying the titular character of a black ops cop named Vikram, who is given the mission to bring to justice a group of masked criminals. The film has already grossed over Rs.200 crores at the box-office worldwide within a week and is slated to start streaming on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform after completing its theatrical run.
