The movie will begin shooting this summer in New York. Interestingly, the producers decided to shoot in the U.S. specifically to avoid the complications of the newly announced Trump tariffs on foreign productions. So yes, the political chaos back home meets another kind of chaos abroad.
This project is being backed by Lions Movies and will be showcased at the Cannes Film Market for international buyers. Ranaut’s casting alone adds weight, she’s not just a four-time National Award winner but also a sitting Member of Parliament and filmmaker, with her recent directorial Emergency receiving global attention.
