Kangana Will Be Back – but on OTT or in Cinemas?

Thalaivi is about the life of a film actress and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayaram Jayalalithaa, who will be played by Ms Ranaut. This film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and will be Kangana’s return to the Tamil cinema for the first time after 2008.

Earlier the rumors going around said that this biographical film was set to release on OTT platforms but the rumors have now been dismissed. Just like a lot other films, Thalaivi will first release at the cinema and then go on digital platforms. The producer, Vishnu Vardhan says that the film is made for theatres and will release there itself.

Due to coronavirus outbreak, the film’s climax is yet to be shot as it requires over 300 people. However the current guidelines permit only 33 percent of the entire film’s cast and crew. The climax is likely to be shot in India itself as the entire story revolves around an Indian politician. Once the situation settles and when the film completes its shooting, a release date will be announced by their team (which earlier was the last week of June).

Thalaivi is one of the most talked releases of 2020 (specially for the Tamil industry) and Kangana’s look for the same was highly appreciated. Can’t wait for the film? Neither can we!

Let’s hope the situation gets better and allows us to watch our favorites on the big screen!
