When Telugu and Hindi cinema cracked the code of making Pan India films, Tamil films had only Ponniyin Selvan that received some sort of acceptance. But, Kanguva looks different.
The movie, starring Suriya and Bobby Deol in the lead roles, is made on a magnanimous scale and has a lot of expectations to meet.
Kanguva stars Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, and K. S. Ravikumar plays important roles.
The fantasy film looked promising so far with big scale effects and storytelling.
But now that the trailer has been released, we have far better clarity about the film.
This is going to be a feast for the lovers of larger than life cinema. It is highly exaggerated in terms of acting, dialogue, actions and almost everything. When Kanguva kills a crocodile then it can either be the peak of heroism or even ridiculous.
Bobby Deol is facing the same type casting issues as Sanjay Dutt but let’s hope that the film presents us with some surprise.
To sum up, the trailer of Kanguva is promising and it can finally give Tamil cinema its much needed pan India blockbuster.
Kanguva is scheduled for a release on the 10th of October. Let’s see what kind of magic it does to impress audiences. More importantly, it would be interesting to see the kind of reaction Kanguva gets outside Tamil Nadu.
