Kannada Film Cracks Letterboxd Global List Post OTT Release

Recently, we had made our readers aware that a Kannada language Indian film had become a part of IMDb’s highest rated Indian movies list. We are talking about the critically acclaimed film ‘777 Charlie’, which started streaming on Voot Select from 29th July onwards, that is, seven weeks after its theatrical release.

And now, ‘777 Charlie’ has achieved yet another feat, this time internationally. The Rakshit Shetty starrer comedy drama movie has made its well-deserved debut on the top 50 international narrative feature films list on the Auckland-based movies-centric social platform Letterboxd, where it currently holds 46th rank.

The coveted Letterboxd list has been topped by the widely acclaimed multiverse action flick ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’. The list also includes S.S. Rajamouli’s epic actioner ‘RRR’ (Rank 2), ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ (Rank 4), ‘The Batman’ (Rank 6), ‘Nope’ (Rank 10), ‘Vikram’ (Rank 12), and ‘Gargi’ (Rank 18), amongst others.

Coming back to ‘777 Charlie’, the film has also garnered a highly impressive 96% positive feedback on the movie ticketing portal BookMyShow. And on IMDb’s top Indian films list, ‘777 Charlie’ is presently on 25th rank and ahead of some big Indian films like ‘Vikram’, ‘KGF-2’, and ‘RRR’, to name a few.

Directed by Kiranraj. K, ‘777 Charlie’ features Rakshit Shetty as the protagonist Dharma, who lives a lonely and dull life as a factory worker. His life suddenly takes a positive turn when a naughty and lively stray Labrador dog named Charlie enters his life. How Charlie’s presence changes Dharma’s perspective towards life and how he bonds with the dog, forms the film’s underlying premise. ‘777 Charlie’ is currently streaming on OTT on Voot Select.
