Also, along with that can’t deny the fact that Karan Johar in fact is a great filmmaker with his vision on filmmaking and notions clear. That being said, Dharma Productions along with Karan Johar has always been busy with new movies and the upcoming release of their slate. Now, another great movie is going to be added to this slate of movies.
Karan Johar in his recent tweet announced his upcoming movie which has been titled “The Untold Story of C. Sankaran Nair”. The movie will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and is supposed to go on floors shortly. The leads for the movie too will be shortly announced. The movie is based on real-life events and the life of the great lawyer C. Sankaran Nair. The movie is produced by Dharma Productions and Still and Still Media Collective.
The movie is adapted from the book “The Case That Shook The Empire”, which has been written by C. Sankaran Nair’s great-grandson Raghu Palat and his wife Pushpa Palat. C. Sankaran Nair was the former president of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council. The movie will be a courtroom drama that will focus on how Nair single handedly took upon himself and fought against the British Raj, to bring out the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. This fight was one of the reasons that made India’s fight for its freedom even stronger.
As for movies based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Vicky Kaushal’s “Sardar Udham Singh” is another movie releasing soon that will also tell about incidents related to the massacre. This is not the first movie that will tell the story of the massacre. Bollywood has made few legendary movies based on it like Ajay Devgn’s “The Legend of Bhagat Singh”. Even “Rang De Basanti” showed a few shots of the incident in the movie. Also, the most recent one is the movie “Phillauri” which also tells the story of the massacre in flashbacks.
