We at Binged had earlier reported about a magnum opus film on Sita being in the works. The ambitious project is tentatively titled “Sita: The Incarnation”. As can be judged from the title, the film is based on Sita’s story. And the latest buzz doing Tinsel Town is that Kareena Kapoor Khan is reportedly in talks to play the role of Sita in the film. Well, if the talks do work out, it will be a casting coup for the film.
All of a sudden, the ancient Indian epic Ramayana has become hot property for the country’s filmmakers. There’s T-Series and Om Raut’s Adipurush, with Kriti Sanon playing Sita. Madhu Manten has a Ramayana project with Deepika Padukone slated to play Sita. And now Kareena Kapoor Khan as Sita in “Sita: The Incarnation”!
What’s more, “Sita: The Incarnation” has something special going for it. The screenplay of the film will be written by none other than celebrated screenplay writer of several magnum opuses, K.V. Vijayendra Prasad. The film will present the story of the Ramayana from Sita’s point of view of Sita – her fears, feelings, desires, and lots more. No cinematic version of The Ramayana has attempted that before. This makes “Sita: The Incarnation” a unique proposition.
For those not in the know, K.V. Vijayendra Prasad’s famous works include Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion, Magadheera, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the upcoming Thalaivi, among others. He’s given scores of blockbusters in the Telugu and Hindi film industries. “Sita: The Incarnation” will be a pan-Indian affair to be made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Alaukik Desai, advertising honcho and filmmaker, will direct the film, while Human Being Studio Productions are the producers. Manoj Muntashir will pen the film’s dialogues and lyrics. Manoj Muntashir has written the dialogues for the Hindi version of the Baahubali franchise. He has also written the lyrics of hit Hindi film songs, including “Galliyan” from Ek Villain, “Tere Sang Yaara” from Rustom, “Kaun Tujhe” from M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story, “Teri Mitti” from Kesari, among others.
The rest of the cast for “Sita: The Incarnation” is yet to be decided upon. Stay tuned to Binged.com for more details on “Sita: The Incarnation”.
