After teasing the audience with the announcement yesterday Netflix has today revealed the title and release date of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s OTT debut film.
Titled as ‘Jaane Jaan’ the announcement video gives a glimpse of the lead actors from the film where Kareena is seen in a gritty role singing the retro song ‘Jaane Jaan’, Jaideep Ahlawat in formals is surrounded with paperwork while Vijay Verma is seen storming out of a jeep. The whole video has a dark, sinister vibe to it.
Touted to be a murder mystery, ‘Jaane Jaan’ is helmed by Sujoy Ghosh who known for his thrillers like ‘Kahaani’ and ‘Badla’. The film is based on the 2005 Japanese novel ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ by Keigo Higashino, the third in his Detective Galileo series and his most acclaimed work so far. The global bestseller has murder, mystery and much more and the adaptation is bound to leave audiences hooked at every turn.
In addition to Kareena Kapoor Khan, the crime thriller film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma in prominent roles. The film is produced by 12th Street Entertainment, Northern Lights Films in association with Boundscript and Kross Pictures.
Jay Shewakramani, Akshai Puri, Sujoy Ghosh and Thomas Kim serve as producers for the yet to titled film that will launch only on Netflix on 21st September, 2023.
