The Tamil language spy action film ‘Sardar’ starring Karthi released theatrically on 21st October prior to Diwali. The film received extremely positive reception at the box office with critics being all praise for its leading man Karthi. Sardar grossed over 100 crores globally and is a box-office hit. A sequel of the film got officially announced by the production house, on 27th October 2022 post its success and is tentatively titled as ‘Sardar 2’. We already reported about Sardar’s digital partner being Aha Video and now we know the exact streaming date as well. The film will stream on Aha Video from November 18th.
Sardar follows the story of Vijay Prakash, a publicity-hungry Inspector who lives with his uncle,Paavadaisaami. He is embarrassed of his father Chandra Bose who was declared as a national traitor, due to which his family committed suicide and wants to wade off the taint from him. Vijay tries to woo his lawyer friend Shalini who refuses to accept him because of his publicity hunger nature. Later, Vijay is assigned a mission of catching a mastermind, who stole a highly classified file containing information of RAW agents since 1980s. That’s when Vijay comes face to face with his father and his past comes haunting him.
Sardar is written and directed by P.S. Mithran and produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under the banner Prince Pictures The film stars Karthi in a double role with Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan,Chunky Pandey and Laila in pivotal roles.
