The buzz around Ram Madhvani’s forthcoming directorial thriller ‘Dhamaka’ featuring Kartik Aaryan in the lead role seemed to have reached another pinnacle when an innovative mood promo for the film was released during the Netflix TUDUM global fan event a few days back. However, the precise release date for ‘Dhamaka’ was still not revealed at that time.
During yesterday night’s 6-hour global outage of Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, Kartik Aaryan took to Twitter to connect with his fans in an interactive #AskKartik session. That’s when one of the fans quizzed the ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ actor about the release date of his next film ‘Dhamaka’.
Kartik Aaryan promptly replied by saying “Wait for my bday treat #Dhamaka #AskKartik”. The actor’s reply instantly got his fans excited by the apparent release date revelation for ‘Dhamaka’. If the fans are predicting this release date hint correctly, then the film might land on Netflix on 22nd November – Kartik Aaryan’s birthday. However, this is contrary to the earlier buzz regarding Dhamaka’s release during the Diwali festival, that is, around 4th or 5th November.
What the actor actually meant by the aforementioned Twitter reply is a matter of speculation. Moreover, an official confirmation regarding Dhamaka’s release date is yet to be made by the makers and its streaming platform Netflix.
‘Dhamaka’ is Ram Madhvani’s next feature film directorial venture after the critically acclaimed and National Award-winning movie ‘Neerja’. The film is said to be based on the 2013 South Korean action thriller ‘The Terror Live’. ‘Dhamaka’ features Kartik Aaryan (his OTT debut) in the lead role of Arjun Pathak – a journalist and host of Bharosa 24/7. While Mrunal Thakur will be seen essaying the role of Kartik Aaryan’s wife. The story ostensibly follows a washed-out former news anchor who, by a twist of fate, gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance after he receives threatening calls from a terrorist.
