Kartik Aaryan seems to be on a signing spree! Continously in the news for bagging great projects, the latest being Shashanka Ghosh’s upcoming romantic thriller, ‘Freddy’, being produced by Ekta Kapoor. Reportedly, the project has been in the pre-production stage for the last 3 months, with the leading lady yet to be announced. The film is expected to go on the floors by the first week of August, post which he will gear up for ‘Shehzada’, the Hindi remake of Allu Arjun starrer, ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo’, also being produced by Ekta Kapoor. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, this film will see Kartik reunite with his ‘Luka Chuppi’ co-star Kriti Sanon, currently basking in the success of ‘Mimi’, that’s been getting her great reviews.
Talking about ‘Shehzada’, script writer Hussain Dalal said, “An actor’s own qualities and personality traits always lend themselves to the screenplay. For instance, Kartik Aaryan as an actor and as a person is different from Allu sir. That has to be factored in while writing the screenplay.” He added, “Allu Arjun has a certain swag and Kartik has his own kind of screen presence and style that we have to play with. An adaptation works best when you are clear about who you are adapting the story for, what you plan to say with it, and how.”
Kartik’s recent fall-out with Karan Johar, when he walked out of the latter’s ‘Dostana 2’, certainly doesn’t seem to be affecting his work, since the next project to make headlines is Ram Madhvani’s ‘Dhamaka’. Streaming giant Netflix has reportedly locked in the release of the film in October this year during the festive season of Navratri and Dusshera. Being the usual release pattern for films to release on festive occasions, the digital giant is looking to maximise its viewership with a similar strategy.
Apart from these films, Aaryan also has Sajid Nadiadwala‘s ‘Satyanarayan ki Katha’, Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and Hansal Mehta’s ‘Captain India’ in his kitty. Talking about Captain India, Kartik recently said in a statement, “Captain India is inspiring and thrilling in equal measure and it gives me great pride and honour to be a part of such a historic chapter of our country. I have immense respect for Hansal Sir’s body of work and this was the perfect opportunity to collaborate with him.”
Well, this year sure seems to be looking great for Kartik and we can’t wait to see what his next announcement will be!
