Netflix has roped in ‘The Vampire Diaries’ fame Kat Graham and ‘The Umbrella Academy’ star Tom Hopper to star in its upcoming romantic comedy film ‘Love In the Villa’. Mark Steven Johnson (‘Ghost Rider’, ‘Love, Guaranteed’) is set to write, direct and produce ‘Love In The Villa’ for Netflix.
As per reports, ‘Love In The Villa’ is the story of a young woman who takes a trip to a romantic destination Verona, Italy, after a break up. She later discovers that the villa she booked was double-booked and she will now have to share it with an extremely good looking yet cynical British man through her vacation.
Alongside Johnson, ‘Love In The Villa’ will be produced by Margret Huddleston and Stephanie Slack under their Off Camera Entertainment banner. The film will start shooting in Verona this month and is set to launch on Netflix next year.
Talking about the film, director Johnson said,“Now, more than ever, people need some love and laughter in their lives. Everyone seems so divided these days. But in the end everyone wants the same thing — to love and to be loved. That’s what movies like Love in the Villa are about.”
Best known for her role as Bonnie Bennett in the supernatural drama series ‘The Vampire Diaries’, other credits for Kat Graham include ‘Addicted’, ‘Operation Christmas Drop’ and ‘17 Again’ among others.
Coming to Tom Hopper, he was recently seen in Ryan Reynolds starrer ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’, has just finish shooting for season 3 of Netflix’s ’The Umbrella Academy’ and his next includes ‘Resident Evil: Welcome To The Raccoon City’.
