The new Prime Video original ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ has got its release dates revealed now. It will be premiering on the platform on the 14th of September. The show is directed by Shujaat Saudagar and it is created by Shujaat and Rensil D’Silva. ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ comes from Excel Entertainment, a production house known for movies like KGF and shows like Mirzapur. The recent Prime Video original ‘Dahaad’ that got much appreciation, was from Excel too.
‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ will have Kay Kay Menon in the lead role and there will be other actors like Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Amyra Dastur in major roles. Kay Kay Menon had already been in a crime thriller named ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ which told the story of a common man’s suffering during the times of Mumbai blasts and its after-effects on the minds of people.
The show is set in post-independence India and will tell the story of the rise of a man in the world of organized crime, conflicted by the ideals of his father who is in law enforcement. It is based on the story ‘Lahore Confidential’ by S. Hussain Zaidi. Ritesh Sidhwani, one of the makers, has said, “Set in the post-independence era, ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ chronicles the birth of the underworld in Mumbai set against the backdrop of a free nation. Viewers will witness a gripping gangster thriller, exploring the classic, universal battle of good versus evil.”
A teaser too has been released, and it is quite intriguing. There will be ten episodes in Bambai Meri Jaan. It will be released on the 14th of September.
