Peacock Original crime drama miniseries ‘Fight Night’ is coming to Jio Cinema and the trailer for the same is out now. Created by Shaye Ogbonna and based on the eponymous 2020 podcast, ‘Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist’ will start streaming on Jio Cinema from 6th September, 2024 onwards.
The trailer is set in the 1970s, specifically on the night when Muhammad Ali returned to boxing and a streetwise hustler Gordon Williams aka Chicken Man, looking for money to make ends meet, plans a heist while the city is busy with the fight night.
He is ambitious and a talker, and this over the top heist of his puts him in a crossfire with ruthless criminals, all looking out for themselves and eager to get their cut from the heist. The thing to take note of here is these are all black people.
On the other hand is police officer JD Hudson, who also happens to be black and as the dawn approaches after the heist night, he is troubled by the rising body counts and is now on a cat and mouse chase. Both JD and Chicken Man are short on time and need to clear latter’s name before the dangerous forces take him out.
‘Fright Night’ stars Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, Dexter Darden, Taraji P. Henson, Myles Bullock, Don Cheadle, Chloe Bailey, and Lori Harvey among others. All 8 episodes of ‘Fight Night’ will premiere on Jio Cinema on 6th September, 2024.
