The upcoming big-ticket period actioner ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ is inching closer towards its highly anticipated Indian theatrical release on 14th April 2022. The recently revealed and widely admired trailer for the KGF sequel has further amped up the curiosity quotient around the film’s release.
And not just in India, ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ is also geared up for its grand theatrical release in overseas markets as well. The movie will release in the USA on 13th April where advanced bookings are already open. While KGF 2 will also be the first South Indian movie to release in Greece. And in the UK, 5000 tickets were reportedly sold within just 12 hours.
Besides the aforementioned overseas markets, the European distributor for Indian movies 4Seasons Creations has recently announced that ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ will be released in Russia in all South Indian languages with Russian subtitles on 14th April itself. A Russian poster for the film was also revealed.

Amidst the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, several Hollywood filmmakers have stalled their releases in Russia. The list includes some premium titles such as ‘The Batman’ and ‘The Lost City’, amongst other movies.
The absence of Hollywood biggies at the Russian box office might be immensely favorable for the commercial response of ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ in Russia. A few days back, S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ had purportedly got a nice response in the country because of the same reason.
Another high-profile Hollywood film that is releasing during the 14th of April weekend in the US and other countries is ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’. However, its Russian theatrical release seems to have been indefinitely postponed ostensibly because of the Ukraine invasion. Now, it remains to be seen how ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ will actually perform in Russia.
‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ is the second and final installment of Prashanth Neel’s 2018 directorial film K.G.F: Chapter 1’. Kannada star Yash reprises his role as the top-notch assassin Rocky who masqueraded as a laborer in the titular Kolar Gold Fields in the first film. The sequel also features Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
