The much hyped theatrical trailer of Ravi Teja‘s action drama, Khiladi was unveiled a short while ago. It needs to be said that the trailer is not exemplary in any which way. Well there is action, glamour show, and thrilling elements, but the problem is that they all do not gel together. The editing is to be blamed for it. The trailer looks like a work of bits and pieces.
An action sequence is followed by a dialogue from Ravi Teja, which is in turn followed by a shot of the two female leads – Dimple Hayati and Meenakshi Chaudhary, who put on glamour feasts. It appears to be that the director Ramesh Varma tried to imply that the film has all the necessary commercial ingredients to pull the masses to the theatres. But he should have come up with a better trailer cut. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score is mediocre.
But credit needs to be given where it is due. The action sequences are shot on a lavish scale. There is grandeur in most of the action shots. In all fairness, the trailer would have been better off with a good edit and continuity. The cinematography is good.
Khiladi hits the silver screens on the 11th of February. It will be the first Telugu biggie to release in theatres post the Covid third wave and that might help its box office prospects. But it all ultimately depends on whether or not the audience are ready to step out to watch new releases in theatres amidst the Covid scare.
Khiladi is an action drama directed by Ramesh Varma and it has Ravi Teja, Arjun Sarja, Unni Mukundan, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Dimple Hayathi, Nikitin Dheer, Sachin Khedekar in the lead roles.
