A Malayalam sports drama, which is about the game of tag, Kho-Kho, is going to release in theaters, next month. Titled Kho-Kho, the Rahul Riji directed sports drama released its official teaser today, on 6th March 2021, a few hours back. Check out this teaser at the end of the article.
The teaser of the film starts off with the Kho-Kho field getting set up while an electric guitar jams in the background. Although Kho-Kho is one of the most popular traditional tag games to be played in the Indian sub-continent, the sport is not taken seriously as a professional one and that weight is felt in the teaser trailer as well. The film follows a coach as she creates a girls Kho-Kho team in the highschool she is currently teaching (we think).
The short 45-second teaser doesn’t give any of the plot details away, but we get some really good shots of the young women in highschool, playing kho-kho while the electric guitar continues on in the background. The film’s lead character, which is the Kho-Kho coach, is being portrayed by Rajisha Vijayan. The actress had recently come on the Netflix black comedy psychological hit thriller, Love and she was commended for her brilliant portrayal of a woman in a toxic relationship. We can’t wait to see how she will perform in this movie. We also expect to see the character’s past, with relation to the sport (practically expected in nearly all sports movies).
Besides directing Kho-Kho, Rahul Riji Nair also made the story, created the screenplay and wrote the script for it as well. The music of the film was made by Sidhartha Pradeep, while the cinematography and the editing was done by Tobin Thomas and Christy Sebastian. Mamitha Baiju, Ranjith Shekhar, Venkitesh V.P., Vettukili Prakash and Arjun Ranjan also star in this film alongside Rajisha Vijayan.
