Netflix has unveiled an enthralling and intriguing trailer for its much anticipated upcoming film ‘Khufiya’, a spy thriller directed by Vishal Bhardwaj that marks his first creative collaboration with the global streaming giant. ‘Khufiya’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 5th October, 2023.
‘Khufiya’ trailer offers a glimpse into a story of love and betrayal intertwined with the deep sense of patriotism. It follows an R&AW operative, Krishna Mehra (Tabu), who is assigned a crucial mission which leaves her juggling between her dual identity as a spy and a lover. On the other hand is Ravi Mohan (Ali Fazal), who also works for the agency but become a prime suspect when it’s discovered that there’s a mole in the agency.
Then begins Operation Brutus which involves keeping an eye on not just Ravi but also his family. But it doesn’t end there and there’s much more to the story and what follows is a gripping sequence of events that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.
‘Khufiya’ is inspired by real life events and is based on a book, Escape to Nowhere, written by the former Chief of the Counter Espionage Unit of R&AW, Amar Bhushan. The film reunites Tabu and Vishal Bhardwaj for the third time after ‘Haider’ and ‘Maqbool’. The film also stars Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ashish Vidyarthi and Azmeri Haque Badhon.
