The Cannes Film Festival is going on. Apart from the glamor of the Red Carpet, it is essentially a film festival. And some of the finest movies on the planet get screened in the highly illustrious event.
The movie is directed by maestro Martin Scorsese. He got a super long standing ovation which was not only for his decades of unprecedented filmography. It was also for his latest brainchild Killers Of The Flower Moon.
It is one of the buzziest movies right now which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, and Brendon Fraser.
The period movie is based on the crimes against the Red Indians for an oil land in the 1920s. The movie is so special because it marks the 7th collaboration of Scorsese with Leonardo DiCaprio and the 11th with Robert De Niro.
The movie is around 3 hours long and that is the most prominent reason it is being criticized for. But, we must keep in mind that the Western world is not habituated with long films, the situation in India is very different.
The ratings of the film are exceptionally great. It is receiving immense appreciation for its performances, overall execution, and eerie setting.
With these things in mind, history seems to be repeating. Mind you that films like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs had a similar start. And they are easily one of the best films ever made.
Let’s wait for what the future brings for Killers Of The Flower Moon.
