Netflix has today announced that Kim Woo-bin and Kim Sung-kyun will lead its upcoming action comedy film ‘Officer Black Belt’ directed by Jason Kim known for the Netflix series ‘Bloodhound’ which reached the global top 10 TV (non-English) list in 83 countries.
‘Officer Black Belt’ is a riveting action comedy film that masterfully intertwines the lives of a probation officer and a martial arts officer, as they fight crime in their own special and relentless ways.
Kim Woo-bin (‘Black Knight’) portrays the unique character of a martial arts prodigy who has an impressive total of nine dans (meaning ranks) in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo. This ordinary yet extraordinary young man with a knack for crime detection is expected to enthrall audiences with his blend of charm and martial prowess.
The story kicks off with Kim Woo-bin’s character saving a ‘martial arts officer’ from a criminal’s assault. That’s an officer who partners with a probation officer solely for physically dangerous situations. As a result of this brave rescue, Kim Woo-bin’s character is made a temporary ‘martial arts officer’ for five weeks.
As a dedicated probation officer, Kim Sung-kyun’s character recognizes the exceptional talents of Kim Woo-bin’s character and suggests he take on a permanent role as a ‘martial arts officer’, marking the start of this duo’s crime-fighting adventures.
‘Officer Black Belt’ is produced by Climax Studio and Seven O Six and will launch soon only in Netflix.
