After success with Kingdom and making it Japan’s one of the biggest blockbusters, Shinsuke Sato is roped in for “Water Margin”, that is to come out as a Netflix original.
After a remarkable job with “Bleach” and of course “Kingdom”, Water Margin will be his major piece of production for the streaming giant.
Water Margin’s script is being written by Eric Sand who has earlier worked on projects like Deepwater Horizon starring Mark Wahlberg. Water Margin is supposed to be a futuristic take on a famous Chinese Literature Novel “The Water Margin” which is a mix of action and adventure with romance. The novel is helmed as one of the most loved and famous classics in Chinese literature. It is a story about love, loyalty, leadership that will take you on a journey all throughout.
The movie will be produced by famous executives working for Netflix at the moment, Newman and Unkeless. They have together worked and produced Will Smith’s Bright, Jamie Foxx’ Project Power and upcoming Chris Hemsworth starrer Spiderhead, along with a very possible Bright 2.
With Kingdom and Bleach on Netflix and being instant hits, Sato has now worked on the series “Alice in Borderland” and Water Margin has the possibility to make him a Netflix Favourite all together.
