The Monsterverse did have a great start this year, especially from a business standpoint. The grand opening, along with the grand reception, did heal the universe. And now, it’s time for Planet of the Apes to receive a similar share of love.
In terms of popularity, this is definitely one franchise that carries a classic tag, so there won’t be any flipping; this is definitely a surety.
Even talking about the recent trilogy, it was quite a success. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes had an overall box office of $701M, followed by Rise of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, which had simultaneous overall earnings of $481M and $490M respectively.
But as the studio was determined about a reboot, the fans were anticipating the estimated opening of the film. And we now have the statistics.
It is being reported that Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes will have an opening of $54M-$61M domestically. Talking about the international market, it will depend entirely on how they manage to advertise it well; it will continue to contribute massively to the box office.
Talking about the cast, Owen Teague plays Noa, Freya Allan portrays Mae. Kevin Durand takes on the role of Proximus Caesar, and Peter Macon stars as. William H. Macy, Travis Jeffery, Neil Sandilands, Eka Darville, Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi, Sara Wiseman, and Dichen Lachman are the final few members of the cast.
Directed by Wes Ball and written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison, this is also the longest-ever film of the franchise, and as it has been developed for almost five years now, the hype is definitely unreal.
