Kit Connor, one of the leading actors of Netflix’s widely appreciated teen dramedy ‘Heartstopper’, recently made headlines with the announcement of the series’ new, upcoming season. And now, he’s back in the news with a new project.
Connor will be teaming up with Rachel Zegler, the breakout star of Steven Spielberg’s musical adaptation of ‘West Side Story’ for an upcoming and yet-untitled project. However, deductions from the actors’ recent Instagram posts point towards a Romeo-Juliet-esque collaboration.
Set against a warm red background of teddy bears, Connor posted the initial ‘R’, while Zegler posted the initial ‘J’, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement and anticipation. Post this unofficial announcement-of-sorts, fans from around the world barraged Instagram with positive comments.
Surprisingly, this is not the only Romeo-Juliet adaptation in the works. Another major project starring
and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers is on its way to Broadway.
Apart from teasing fans with this announcement, the actors are up to other projects as well! Zegler is set to play Snow White alongside Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen in a live-action adaptation of the Disney classic, which is scheduled to be released in 2025. Connor on the other hand will star opposite Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, and Stephanie Hsu in DreamWorks Animation’s ‘The Wild Robot’.
With the cast already having riled up audience expectations, this project will definitely be a must watch!
