Good news for K-drama fans. The much anticipated thriller series ‘Uncle Samsik’ is now available to watch on OTT. It is now streaming on Disney+Hotstar in India.
‘Uncle Samsik’ is a period drama based in 1970s Korea and tells an intriguing tale of pride, ambition and brotherhood. The show is written and directed by Shin Yeon-shick. And it stars actors like Song Kang-ho, Byun Yo-han, Lee Kyu-hyung, Jin Ki-joo, Seo Hyun-woo and many others. Song Kang-ho is known for his performances in movies like ‘Snowpiercer’ and ‘Memories Of Murder’ and he delivers an astounding performance here as well.
The show tells us the story of Kim San, and aristocrat who is tense with the future of his country and comes to Uncle Samsik, a strange middle aged man for help in specific political issues. A strong bond of love and trust forms between Samsik and Kim San as they navigate through the desperate Korean wars of those times.
The performances are great and the writing is carefully crafted. The fanbase of Korean dramas is growing day by day and it is for the reason that the industry is delivering the fans with the content they want, even surprising them at times. There have been so many extraordinary projects from the Korean industry in recent times, that it is impossible to keep track of them.
