One of the top rated shows on Indian OTT ‘Kota Factory‘ returns for a second season and we can’t wait! The much-awaited show’s second season drops this Friday, 24th September on Netflix. The first season of ‘Kota Factory’ was released on TVF’s digital platform, however, post the immense love and appreciation the show received, the makers have taken a big step by releasing the second season on Netflix. The TVF produced show features Jitendra Kumar, Mayur More, Ranjan Raj, Alam Khan, Ahsaas Channa, Revathi Pillai and Urvi Singh in pivotal roles.
While the first season of India’s first monochrome series, ‘Kota Factory’, focused on the stress of the students pressurised into choosing the better institute, the second season will focus on the struggle of the students preparing for the IIT’s. From the looks of it, the show is likely to focus on the mental traumas faced by students during the preparation of the IIT exams. The trailer of ‘Kota Factory 2’ that released on 10th September, crossed a million views within the first few hours itself! So far, the trailer has reached 20 million views on YouTube.
What we know so far is that Vaibhav (played by Mayur More) qualifies for Maheshwari classes, but may be in for a rude shock as things don’t look as rosy as he dreamt it would be. Although he leaves Prodigy classes, the city of Kota keeps everyone connected. The trailer shows that Uday, Shivangi, Vartika and Meena are all still an important part of his life. The short albeit powerful appearance of Jeetu bhaiya (played by Jitendra Kumar) in the trailer reassures us that he is still likely to play a crucial role in Vaibhav’s life. The second season takes the plot forward and depicts the pain and struggle of the protagonists, on entering the second year of preparations, where they face their biggest challenge yet—self-doubt.
The dialogue ‘sawaal late poocha toh kya sawaal galat ho jata hai kya’ really gives us goosebumps thinking of the amount of pressure students face. As the trailer suggests, the narrative could be more emotionally moving this time around and may throw more light on mental issues and emotional hurdles that students face. ‘Kota Factory’ Season 2 premieres on 24th September on streaming giant Netflix.
