Netflix India stunned the Indian streaming space today with a spate of exciting announcements. The streaming giant revealed its slate of Indian Originals for 2024 and beyond. The huge list includes everything from romance to drama, suspense to murder mysteries, comedy and reality shows, documentaries, and yes, guilty pleasures too.
The 20+ titles strong slate comes from stellar storytellers such as Yash Raj Films, Neeraj Pandey, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, The Viral Fever, and more. The actors in the shows and movies include the who’s who of showbiz, with accomplished veterans and rising stars jostling for space in the sun.

1. Murder Mubarak – Streaming on 15th March
Based on the novel “Club You To Death” by Anuja Chauhan, Murder Mubarak is a murder mystery set in the backdrop of Delhi high society. Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, among others. Produced by Maddock Films.
2. Amar Singh Chamkila – Streaming from 12th April
The untold true story of Punjab’s original rockstar of the masses, Amar Singh Chamkila, who emerged from the shadows of poverty and rose to the heights of popularity in the 80s, due to the sheer power of his music, angering many along the way, ultimately leading to his assassination at a young age of 27. Written and directed by Imtiaz Ali. Starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
3. Do Patti – Coming Soon
The murder mystery marks Kriti Sanon’s debut as a producer. Written by Kanika Dhillon, Do Patti stars Kajol as a police officer solving a rather unusual case, with Kriti Sanon in an unusual role. Also starring Shaheer Sheikh and Tanvi Azmi.
4. Maharaj – Coming Soon
Produced by Yash Raj Films, Maharaj is the acting debut of Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son. The story is inspired by true events, and recounts how an ordinary journalist takes on the might of a powerful man, to expose his wrongdoings.

5. Vijay 69 – Coming Soon
Another movie from Yash Raj Films, Vijay 69 stars Anupam Kher as a 69 year old man, who decides to compete in and train for a triathlon. Produced by Maneesh Sharma and directed by Akshay Roy for YRF Entertainment.
6. Wild Wild Punjab – Coming Soon
Wild Wild Punjab is a comedy film that follows a group of drunk boys who decide to avenge a friend’s breakup by crashing his ex’s wedding and achieve closure in a bold and impromptu “breakup trip”.
Starring Varun Sharma, Sunny Singh, Manjot Singh, Jassie Gill, Patralekhaa, Ishita Raj.
7. Phir Aayee Haseen Dillruba – Coming Soon
The sequel to Haseen Dillruba sees Rani and Rishu living in Agra under false pretenses. Will they manage to evade the police again, led by a determined new cop? Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey return as Rani and Rishu. Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill are new entrants in the story.
8. Sikandar Ka Muqaddar – Coming Soon
Coming from Neeraj Pandey, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar is a heist thriller that spans across 18 years. Written, directed and produced by Neeraj Pandey. Cast yet to be announced.

9. Maamla Legal Hai – Streaming from 1st March
Legal comedy, set in the backdrop of Delhi. The series consists of quirky characters, played by Ravi Kishann, Nidhi Bisht, Anant V Joshi, Naila Grewal, Anjum Batra, Vijay Rajoria, Yashpal Sharma, Tanvi Azmi, Vivek Mushran. Produced by Posham Pa Pictures.
10. IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack – Coming Soon
The series is based on the hijack of IC 814, the longest in the history of aviation. 188 passengers stranded inside a plane for 7 days, at times on the ground and at times at 30,000 feet. What did it take to get them back safe?

13. Dabba Cartel – Coming Soon
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment brings an action-packed crime series where a bunch of women run drugs through a ‘dabba’ delivery business. As their secret cartel expands, they must navigate treacherous alliances, the law, and their own inner conflicts.

20. The Greatest Rivalry: India Vs Pakistan – Coming Soon
The Greatest Rivalry – India vs Pakistan chronicles the relationship between both countries, on and off-field. The docu-series is filled with emotions, cricketing action and humor as it presents two sides of a coin – the competitiveness and unlikely camaraderie shared between the two teams. 21. The Great Indian Kapil Show – Premieres 30th March
Comedian Kapil Sharma is back with his particular brand of comedy. The show will stream new episodes every Saturday, at 8 pm, with Kapil Sharma and the shenanigans of his gang consisting of Sunil Grover, Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Rajiv Thakur.
22. To Kill A Tiger – Coming Soon
Oscar-nominated documentary film To Kill A Tiger follows Jharkhand farmer Ranjit, who takes on the fight of his life when he demands justice for his 13-year-old daughter, the survivor of sexual assault. It is a story of hope, resilience and a father’s unwavering love, and shows how one person’s bravery can be all it takes to spark change.
