Sony has found its Chameleon for its Spider-Man universe. Fred Hechinger has been hired by the studio to portray the live-action version of the supervillain. Deadline first broke this piece of news on the internet. We have Aaron Taylor-Johnson playing the lead with J. C. Chandor at the helm so far. Also, Richard Wenk was chosen to pen down the script for the upcoming SSU entry in 2018.
Chameleon is considered the first-ever foe of the web-slinger. Apart from perfectly impersonating any person, he is also the half-brother of Kraven. A true master in disguise. The character first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man (1963) comic book series.
The White Lotus fame, Fred Hechinger, is prominent for working on many projects. He made his movie debut with Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade nearly three years ago. Additionally, he has starred in Vox Lux, Human Capital, Let Them All Talk, News of the World, The Woman in the Window, Fear Street Trilogy, and many more films. But he is well-known for playing Quinn Mossbacher in HBO’s The White Lotus series.
Fans have already got a couple of Venom movies from Sony. Plus, Jared Leto’s Morbius is ready to arrive in April this year. It looks like the studio is pretty serious about expanding its Spidey superhero universe.
So, the big question is this ‘Will we see Tom Holland appearing in Morbius and Kraven the Hunter?’
Well, these forthcoming SSU instalments are based more on the leading characters rather than bestowing the entire spotlight to Spider-Man. It means we may get a cameo appearance from Holland in these projects. But not a full-fledged role.
Kraven the Hunter will come out on January 23, 2023, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Fred Hechinger in the cast.
