Kriti Sanon is one of the most busiest actresses of today’s generation. She has a couple of movies planned out for this year and is currently busy in shooting Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’. In a recent interview with Times of India, Kriti shared her views on the changing landscape in Indian entertainment industry, with theatres being out of action for almost a year and OTT platforms taking their place. Also the actress shared about her future plans in the OTT space.
Sanon, who has seen enough blockbusters in her career recently spared a few thoughts on the “debate of the year” – OTT vs Theatres. She said that OTT platforms have taken in a huge number of audience in a very short span of time. Largely due to the pandemic where people consumed the content through these platforms from their homes. And with that being said, the audience themselves are enjoying this new method of entertainment.
According to Kriti, despite containing a huge library of content from all over the world, there is something that these OTT platforms falls short on and that is creating the same amount of magic as the theatres. She feels that though the content in the streaming platforms are very entertaining and she herself enjoys them a lot but there is a significant amount of magic in the cinema halls which attracts the audience.
She further adds that, In OTT there is no pressure among the actors and directors and all the makers of box office and one can completely enjoy their time on the specific work. But this same thing serves as a negative because there aren’t any numbers from which the content can be judged.
Seeing the trend of many big actors venturing into the OTT space, Kriti was also asked if she would like to take her chances in the new growing entertain space. To this she answered that, she would love to work in the OTT space and would try to do some out of the box roles in this space. Since it’s all about experiments, she too would like to do an experiment and try on to perform an edgy character.
