From child actor to handsome young star, Kunal Kemmu is now turning director with ‘Madgaon Express’ that he has also written.
The ‘Kalyug’ fame will make his directorial debut with ‘Madgaon Express’ produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under their Excel Entertainment banner.
Seeking blessings from Lord Ganesh and the audience, Kunal Kemmu launched the film on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi today and said, “Ganpati Bappa Moriya! As all good things begin with his name I can’t think of a better day to share this with all of you. It started with a thought in my head, which grew into a dream which flowed out through my fingers into words on my laptop, and now it is becoming a reality on its way to the silver screen”.
He further expressed gratitude to Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Rucha at Excel Entertainment for believing in his script and his vision and partnering with him on this exciting journey in the world of cinema.
Kemmu began his career as a child actor with Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sir’ and played some iconic characters like Rajnikant in Aamir Khan and Karishma Kapoor’s ‘Raja Hindustani’. Growing up into a handsome young man he once again debuted in films with Mohit Suri’s massive hit ‘Kalyug’.
And since then Kunal has given some noteworthy performances in films such as ‘Traffic Signal’, Golmaal’ franchise, ‘Go Goa Gone’, ‘Kalank’, ‘Malang’, ‘Lootcase’ and many more.
Talking about Excel Enttertainment, the Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani led production house has given some huge blockbusters. These include films like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Rock On!!’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Don’, ‘Fukrey’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Gully Boy’ and more. They also produced the Hindi version of Yash starrer blockbuster hit ‘K.G.F’.
They have created a name in the digital world too with web series such as ‘Inside Edge’, ‘Made In Heaven’, ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Fukrey Boyzzz’ and ‘Eternally Confused and Eager For Love’.
