In “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” if you recall the charming ‘Ego,’ there might be an interesting casting rumor circulating. As the DC universe undergoes changes, a plethora of casting rumors is always expected.
Gunn, while addressing the rumors, has already clarified that casting won’t commence until the script is finalized. However, in terms of the Superman Legacy, some major casting has already taken place.
Russell has expressed interest in playing Jor-El in Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, reflecting on Marlon Brando’s iconic performance in Superman.
‘Yeah! Yeah, I’ll take on Marlon Brando! I mean, there was something awesome about the way he was just looking around – I don’t care that he was looking at his lines – he’s crazy great to watch! You know what: we don’t know a lot about Jor-El. Maybe there’s a version… I never heard this, so I don’t know. James Gunn was a blast to work with, though, so you never know.’
In terms of Jor-El’s character, even though it is evident that he won’t be getting much screen time, actors like Russell Crowe and Marlon Brando already worked wonders despite shorter time on the screen.
As the rumors float, here is the confirmed cast for the reboot of DC and its Superman project – Gunn has yet to finalize the script before beginning the casting process.
– David Corenswet: Superman
