As you may have heard, the highly anticipated Dulquer Salmaan starrer, ‘Kurup‘, is finally releasing. However, the crime thriller will forgo an OTT release, instead, releasing in theatres on November 12th 2021. The first single of the film, titled ‘Pakaliravukal’ in Malayalam released on the Saregama Malayalam YouTube channel, half a day ago, to over 900K+ views. In fact, this song got released in five languages in total, all at the same time, on multiple Saregama channels on YouTube – the four songs receiving over 1.2 million views in 12 hours.
The song was released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada and each version had received a significant amount of views within half a day. While 1.2 million views in 12 hours isn’t all that impressive, this number is quite ridiculous for a Malayalam song (even if it is in different versions). Give ‘Pakaliravukal’ another a couple of hours and the Malayalam version alone will have over a million views. The Telugu version, ‘Edi Paravasamo’ had the second-highest views, followed by the Hindi version, ‘Pal Itna Mera’ and then the Tamil version, ‘Uravanum Vazhiyea’, followed by the Kannada version, ‘Arerere Regale’, with the least number of views.
