‘Lady In The Lake’ Trailer: Natalie Portman Tries To Solve A Murder Mystery

Apple TV+ has unveiled the official trailer for Alma Har’el’s upcoming limited series, Lady in the Lake, starring Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram. Portman portrays Maddie Schwartz, a woman with a dangerous past hidden beneath the surface. Seeking a fresh start, Maddie takes on the role of an investigative journalist. Meanwhile, Ingram takes on the role of Cleo Johnson, a Black woman navigating the complexities of Baltimore’s political landscape. Their lives become tragically intertwined when Maddie becomes consumed by Cleo’s sudden and mysterious death.

Apart from Portman and Ingram, the cast of “Lady in the Lake” has talents such as Brett Gelman, Noah Jupe, Y’lan Noel, Josiah Cross, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Byron Bowers, and Mikey Madison.

Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o was originally set to portray Cleo. However, she left the Apple TV+ project due to unknown reasons. This scenario enabled Moses Ingram to take her place in the limited series. Ingram rose to global prominence after starring in the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” Disney+ series.

In addition to her directing duties, Har’el has also written and executively produced the series along with Portman, Sophie Mas, and producing partner Christopher Leggett.

“Lady in the Lake” will premiere on the Apple TV+ streaming platform on July 19. Stay tuned for more updates. Watch the trailer below!
