It has been all over the news that Sunny Deol will now be collaborating with Aamir Khan for a film. There were many rumors about the cast, crew, director or plot of the movie but there was no official announcement.
But the wait is over now, ‘Aamir Khan Productions’ has now shared a post regarding the commencement of the movie. It is titled ‘Lahore, 1947’ and will be a period drama during the time of partition. Aamir Khan, however, will not star in the movie but will act as a producer.
Acclaimed director Rajkumar Santoshi will be directing the movie and Sunny Deol will play the lead role.
It is reported that the ‘Lahore, 1947’ is being adapted from a play named ‘Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai’. The play tells the story of a muslim family that migrates to Lahore after the partition and they are escorted to a deserted hindu villa to take it as a residence. However, they find an old hindu woman who refuses to leave the haveli and asserts her rights over it.
Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan will be coming together for a historic collaboration. After the grand success of the period romance ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol is, once again, a regular household name, and his working on a well written screenplay with good directors and producers indicates a good future for the actor. As for Aamir Khan, he is known for making cameos in movies he produces. So, we might get to see a glimpse of him in ‘Lahore, 1947’.
