Netflix has roped in Academy Award winner Laura Dern (‘Jurassic World Dominion’, ‘The Son’, ‘Little Women’, ‘Marriage Story’) and Liam Hemsworth (‘Poker Face’, ‘Isn’t It Romantic’, ‘Arkansas’, ‘The Hunger Games’) to star in its upcoming film ‘Lonely Planet’.
‘Lonely Planet’ will be written, directed and produced by Oscar and Emmy award nominee Susannah Grant (‘Unbelievable’, ‘Confirmation’, ‘Erin Brockovich’, ‘Catch & Release’, ‘The Soloist’). The film is a love story set in Morocco.
Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions, Susannah Grant and Sarah Timberman serve as producers for ‘Lonely Planet’. The film marks the continuation of Netflix’s creative partnership with 3dot Productions that came into being in 2019 and includes a multi year first-look film deal.
Projects as part of this deal are upcoming adaptations of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestseller ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’ and Diane Cardwell’s memoir ‘Rockaway’. Liza Chasin’s 3dot is also producing Netflix’s upcoming thriller series ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’ based on the book by Sarah Vaughan.
