Today released one of the most awaited trailers of one of the most awaited movies from this year Laxmmi Bomb. And while the fans are enjoying the trailer very much they were disappointed to know that likes and dislikes of the trailer have been switched off. yes you heard it correctly! Oops sorry you read that correctly! Fans wanted to show their love towards the trailer but were disappointed to learn about this.
Let’s talk about how all this began. Well most of you all know that due to the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput which created a nationwide outrage, His film, his last film Dil bechara was due to release on Disney+ Hotstar multiplex. Now fans showered their love for the late Sushant Singh Rajput in the form of likes on his movie’s trailer. Dil bechara gained more than 10 million likes on it’s trailer and from here began the process of showing love or hate for a movie in the form of like or dislikes.
The first film which got into the wrong side of this was none other than Alia Bhatt starter Sadak 2 which garnered more than 13 million dislikes till now and majority of this outrage was based on the debate of Nepotism in Bollywood. The result of this didn’t only stick to the trailer but also hampered the movie as it barely got an audience even though it was released directly on OTT. Another case can be made of Khaali Peeli which faced the same issue on their trailer. Due to this, negative publicity is bound to happen and similarly the film was discouraged by the viewers.
Seeing the current situation in India and bollywood, and analyzing the fate of their previous outing – Sadak 2, FoxStarHindi and Disney+Hotstar have decided to play it safe by disabling the likes and dislikes for their upcoming horror comedy Laxmmi Bomb which stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in the lead. This means that even though you like or dislike the video, it wouldn’t show the numbers and the amount of likes or dislikes. Seeing that Akshay Kumar enjoys a huge fan following then also makers are not risking anything which could possibly damage or tarnish the image for their film.
Disney+Hotstar multiplex too released an official trailer for the film on their YouTube channel and they too have disabled the likes and dislikes. This has made people to point out the deed and there is an ongoing debate happening right now on Twitter. What are your views about this? Do let us know.
The trailer is out on YouTube! Go watch if you haven’t already!
